Here are some of the things I bring to the table. If it has to do with making a record, I've probably done it, many times over.
Music Production
Producing has many moving pieces. Some producers do very specific tasks and some only work in one or two music styles. I am comfortable in many music styles and can execute all the skills required to finish a recording. From vocals, creating tracks for songs, tracking live instruments, arranging and coming up with parts, pretty much everything down to the mix... I got it. For some reason I don't do MASTERING!
Executive Production
There are a lot of independent artists out there that could use an educated outside opinion to feel confident about the musical choices they are making. Friends are great and your mom means well but having an "outside looking in" person who is educated and experienced on your team can make a huge difference. I have executive produced many projects. It's an art all in itself.
Songwriting
It all starts and ends here. The song is everything. I can help in this department as well. We can write together or I can simply give you some constructive criticism if needed, to make the song reach it's potential. Sometimes the arrangement of the song can make a big difference as well.
History
I come from a musical family. Four generations of music. I would say creating music is more than a personal choice or instinctual passion, it's a lifestyle that I've known my whole life. Surrounded by it from day 1 I could shake my butt in time to a beat before I could walk. By 7, I performed with my family all over my small Canadian hometown and by 12 played in cover bands and starting to learn the recording process. I was classically trained but also educated on the front lines, making music for audiences since the beginning. My dad always said, "Music is form of communication, so it's useless if the only time you express yourself is alone in the basement!" So in the beginning I gigged a lot. Then around 14-15 years old the studio life got a hold of me and I was hooked. From that point on I knew I would be a studio rat making recordings for life!
When I hit my twenties it was time for me to expand my musical journey and headed to a major market. Los Angeles was calling me and I answered. Through hard work, dedication and a little bit of luck I found myself working with some incredibly gifted people. I have learned so much from all the musical collaborations I've had along the way. Good or bad. Not to many bad ones, cause if you love it... it can't be that bad. You're doing what you love, what makes you get out of bed everyday. I am looking forward to working with like minded people who have an unbridled passion for music and are in a constant pursuit of improving and growing as creators and as human beings.
